A conversation about creative fields

Creative articles. This time, there will be no formal presentations or panel discussions. Instead, we will focus entirely on an open conversation and creating a space where participants can discuss both with each other and with us. The meeting will be held at CCP in Gróskua, 3rd floor, at Bjargargata 1, 102 Reykjavík, from 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM. 

The network around the Creative Industries Research Center has been growing rapidly, and we want to take this opportunity to invite people from different areas of the creative industries to meet, share experiences, and discuss issues together. We encourage practitioners, managers, academics, policymakers, and everyone interested in the creative industries to join the conversation. Participants will gather at tables where a facilitator will guide the discussion and summarize key points. We encourage people to arrive early to grab coffee and breakfast, courtesy of CCP. A Teams meeting will also be available for those who cannot attend in person; the number of spots will depend on registration. The conversation will then take place in English at 1-2 tables (based on registration). 

Together, we will consider questions about the future of culture and the creative industries: What do we want to strengthen? What do we need to change? And how do we want the Icelandic creative landscape to develop in the coming years? 

The objectives of the meeting are to: 

• Gain a deeper insight into the state and potential future of the creative industries in Iceland 
• Analyze questions that are worth investigating, discussing, and developing further. 
• Create an open space for dialogue for a diverse group of participants. 

Participants can suggest discussion topics upon registration. Suggested questions will be available at the tables if needed, but the main focus is on open and participant-driven conversation. At the end of the meeting, group leaders will briefly review the discussions from their table, and then there will be an opportunity for cross-table dialogue. After the meeting, RSSG will compile a comparison based on the table points and share a summary with the participants.
